Augern 'Gravemaker'

Meet a character that ive had for several years, but recently revamped. Decided to post him a reff.

Maybe ill draw his companion, Tirn, next, but unlikely :U

Species: Delarsyn

Age: 23 years (or as they say, 63 cycles)

Tribe: Dark Forest (they tend to be dark in color to blend in at night)

History: Augern's last name is actually "Headson", because his father was the former head of the tribe that Augern now digs graves for. He was cast out by his father as a child(one thrown into a pit of bones by his father), and found himself scrounging for meals among the others, hidden by sympathetic females against the wrath of his father. He lived mostly in the Dead-pits, a bog-like area where bodies of diseased animals seem to wash up in, through erosion and flooding. The Delarsyns, which is his species, will also busy their own dead there.

As Augern grew, he became bitter, getting into fights. Many of his scars are caused by other males who crossed his path, or over fights for food. He usually lost, though, due to his bad eyesight.

When his father started to go senile (he was actually very old), claiming he was plagued by spirits, Augern came out of hiding. Many in his former tribe, however, suggested that he live in the Dead-pits and take up the job of Gravedigger. It was a dangerous job, many large scavengers and carnivores sometimes went there, and there were giant holes filled with sharp bones, but he was confident that he would be able to jump these obstacles.

Now, he works in the graveyard, bettering the conditions of the graves. He uses wet, strong smelling soil filled with bugs and worms to bury them in, so they will decompose quickly.

*Most Delarsyn believe that the souls of the dead will remain on earth and will have to reflect on their live until the flesh has completely left the bones. Many have used bugs and damp soil to quicken up the decomposition process.

Augern, however, uses different plants and scents to cover up the smell... and often covers himself in the stuff and bathes so he wont smell as bad either.

And now, he is known as "Gravemaker"
